The Federal Government of Nigeria to support the economic recovery in response to the COVID-19 pandemic launched an initiative – Solar Power Naija (SPN) – as part of the Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP) to achieve the rollout of 5 million new solar connections in off-grid communities.
To achieve its objective, the Program works to catalyse access to financing for developers in the off-grid sector and has galvanized top investors and guarantors in the off-grid space to develop various funding pathways for developers.
