The MD/CEO REA, ABBA ABUBAKAR ALIYU PRESENTED THE NATIONAL ELECTRIFICATION STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION PLAN (NESIP) TO THE VICE PRESIDENT, H.E., KASHIM SHETTIMA.

Today, the MD/CEO and his team briefed the Vice-President on the ongoing implementation of the Agency's transformative programme, the Phase 2 of the Energizing Education Programme (EEP), designed to provide clean, sustainable energy to Federal Universities and University Teaching Hospitals. The largest of the EEP 2 projects is a 12MW solar hybrid power plant nearing completion in University of Maiduguri.

Hon Minister of Power with PSCT Committee members from Agencies in the Power Sector namely: Federal Ministry of Power, Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), FGN Power Company (FGNPC), National Power Training Institute of Nigeria ( NAPTIN), Nigeria Bulk Electricity Commission (NBET), Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Nigerian Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO), Transmission Company of Nigeria ( TCN), Niger Delta Power Holding Company ( NDPHC), and Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE)

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Power House in Abuja, was presided over by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who emphasized the importance of effective communication in addressing the sector’s challenges.

REA ACTIVATES A COMBINED 200KWP CAPACITY SOLAR MINI GRIDS IN EDO STATE COMMUNITIES.

Edo State, Nigeria – The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), commissioned Two (2) solar hybrid mini grids of 100kWp each at Oloyan community in Ovia South LGA and Sule Camp community in Ovia North East LGA of Edo State respectively. The projects, expected to improve the socio economic conditions of the people in these communities were completed under the Rural Electrification Fund – Call 2 programme of the Rural Electrification Agency.
