Energizing Usman Danfodio University

On the 28th of November 2022, the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto (UDUS) was officially plugged onto a 2.0MW solar hybrid power plant under the Federal Government’s Energizing Education Programme (EEP), being implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA)

The Phase 1 of this project, designed to energize 9 federal universities and 1 university teaching hospital, is being funded through the Federal Government’s Green Bond. The UDUS project falls under this phase, with 7 other Federal universities already energized with varying capacities of standard solar hybrid power plants

The world has taken a step with the conclusion to establish a “loss and damage” fund and operationalize it. I am delighted that young Africans played a pivotal role in this year’s iteration of the Climate Change Conference The Federal Government, working with a wholesome understanding of the nation’s energy access problems, continues to improve upon the offgrid, renewable energy space while leveraging the Rural Electrification Agency as a tool for nationwide implementation of sustainable energy projects.
