@SenBalaMohammed, speaking on the upcoming REA #StatebyState strategic engagement with Bauchi State during his visit to the #REAHQ on the 28th of Nov, 2024. The Executive Governor added that Bauchi State has an active Ministry of Power, Science, and Technology created to explore the multidimensional energy challenges in the State and provide sustainable energy for development, agriculture, MSME growth, research and innovation.
In line with the REA’s mission to bridge Nigeria’s energy access gap, I had the honour of welcoming His Excellency, Sen. Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, on a courtesy visit.
As one of the states with a growing population in the North East and a budding agricultural economy, Bauchi State holds significant potential for energising agriculture and other parts of the economy.
Our discussions focused on adopting the National Electrification Strategy and Implementation Plan (NESIP) to enhance electricity generation and supply in the state. In this regard, we are organising a roundtable where the REA, financiers, Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESCOs), and the Bauchi State government will come together to establish incentives and define the operational framework for this initiative.--Abba Aliyu MD.CEO, REA
