Engr. Ahmad Salihijo joined the Minister of Science and Technology, Sen. Adeleke Mamora; the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mariam Yalwaji Katagum; the DG of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Prof. Eli Jidere Bala and other stakeholders and change makers from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Global Environment Facility (GEF) as well as other Agencies for a 1-day Workshop on Accelerating Small Hydropower Investments in Nigeria.
While commending the quality of collaborations in the sector as well as attendees at the Workshop, Engr. Salihijo explained that the REA equally “continues to explore technological possibilities through R&D through its Research and Innovation Hub”.
He added that the objectives of the workshop is in line with global best practice needed to accelerate investment for small Hydropower in Nigeria through data-driven strategies needed to explore alternative technologies to close the energy gap in the country
“I am glad that we have a mix of critical stakeholders including private sector players, government institutions, stakeholders from the development sector, innovators and researchers here in this room today”.
