Earlier today, the Executive Management team of the REA, led by the MD/CEO Abba Aliyu, received the Comptroller General of the Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap (CGIS), at the #REAHQ.
Upon her appointment earlier in the year, the CGIS has sustained the prioritization of border security across the nation, as well as the optimization of innovation for better service delivery, in line with the KPIs and performance standards outline by the Ministry of Interior. While briefing the CGIS on the REA's history of productive partnerships with security institutions, including the Nigeria Military, the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Customs Service, towards the provision of sustainable energy access for illumination, security and protection of lives and properties, Abba Aliyu emphasized the importance of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the centrality of sustainable energy access to service delivery.
Abba assured the CGIS of the Agency's commitment to improved energy access to the unserved and the underserved. Commending the REA's efforts on nationwide energy access, Kemi Nanna Nandap explained that with the current growth trajectory of the Nigeria Immigration Service, especially on digitalization, security, data protection and border safety, sustainable energy sources are needed, beyond the dependence on the grid.
The CGIS explained that the Immigration Command and Control centre and other critical data and information infrastructure can benefit from such energy solutions. Both institutions are aligned on activating a partnership targeted at improved service delivery, data safety, security and improved corporate governance, in line with the Federal Government's Renewed Hope agenda.
Also at the meeting were the Executive Management team of the REA, including the Agency's Executive Director Rural Electrification Fund (REF), Doris Uboh; the Executive Director Technical Services, Engr Umar Abdullahi Umar, FNSE and the Executive Director Corporate, Services Ayoade Gboyega.
