Research and Innovation

REA Research and Innovation initiative seeks to build an ecosystem of partnerships with impact funding to stimulate innovative solutions/ technologies, towards improving agricultural productivity and other socio-economic infrastructure such as Health, Water, Transport, Education, Communication, as well as prototype devices and solutions that will address Rural electrification challenges in rural communities of Nigeria.

Abba Aliyu, MD/CEO REA

Abba Aliyu is the Managing Director and CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in Nigeria. He has over 20 years of experience in energy and organizational development within the private and public sectors, including significant roles in both on-grid and off-grid power sectors. He previously headed the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) at the REA and served as a special assistant to the Minister of Power.
