REA MD Joins High-level Business Leaders and Energy Investment Stakeholders at the 5th DBN Annual Lecture Series
On the 25th of September 2024, the REA, represented by the Abba Abubakar Aliyu, the Agency's MD/CEO, featured at the 5th Annual Lecture Series, convened by the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN). The DBN Lecture Series is part of the Bank’s efforts to reaffirm its commitment to the needs and challenges of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. This year, the attendees and speakers harped on the theme on ‘Empowering Nigerian MSMEs in a Challenging Global Landscape.’
While speaking to attendees and high-level dignitaries, the REA MD highlighted the Agency's sustained efforts in the deployment of mini-grids in rural communities across Nigeria, which continues to provide energy access for homes and MSMEs.
In his highlight of the socioeconomic impact of the REA programmes and initiatives, including the World Bank and African Development Bank Funded Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP), Abba explained that the public and private sector players can collaborate more to drive the sector's growth, while exploiting innovative funding mechanisms for Accelerated deployment of energy access solutions.
