REA-NEP SIGNS OBF GRANT AGREEMENT ADDENDUM WITH QUALIFIED GRANTEES
The Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) of the Rural Electrification Agency signed Grant Agreement Addendums with six (6) existing qualified companies under the Output Based Fund (OBF) subcomponent of the Standalone Solar Home Systems Component, marking yet another significant step in its efforts towards providing access to electricity to unserved and underserved communities in Nigeria. The Grant Agreement Addendum reflects the recent modification to the OBF which includes the increase in grant rate across all tiers and the introduction of remote verification process as well as the integration of grantee's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to the Odyssey platform, allowing for easy verification of SHS claims thereby leading to quicker disbursements.
The six (6) companies namely; Engie Energy Access Nigeria Limited, A4&T Power Solutions Limited, Wavelength Integrated Power Services Limited, Morton78 Limited, Lemi Renewable Energy Limited and Greenlight Planet commended the REA-NEP for the recent changes made on the programme, which they believe, will result in increased demand for SHS products across Nigeria and more streamlined operations for both the private and public sectors towards closing the electrification gap.
