On Wednesday, the 8th of January 2025, the REA convened the Rural Electrification Fund (REF) Bidders’ Workshop, a knowledge-driven engagement designed to enhance Developers’ understanding of the implementation of bankable, sustainable energy access projects under the REF Call 3.
As prequalified bidders’ are expected to design bankable business models and proposals in line with the requirements of the REF, the Bidders’ Workshop aided productive engagement across vital touch points, including site specific technical, financial and socio-economic considerations.
Leveraging the tenets of Public-Private-Partnerships, the private sector has, over the years, optimized the invaluable technical expertise at the REA as a guide to ensuring the deployment of people-centered, efficient and sustainable energy projects across the nation.
This mode of engagement has enabled the successful implementation of REF Call 1 and Call 2, aiding the delivery of clean energy projects to millions of Nigerians in last-mile communities. The Agency is set to record additional clean energy connections through the implementation of REF Call 3.
