Excited about the progress we've made so far under the Energizing Education Programme (EEP) Phase II. Earlier today, we showcased the University of Abuja's innovative 3.3MW Solar Hybrid Power Plant, built under the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria (REA)’s Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP), to a high-level delegation led by Damilola Ogunbiyi CEO and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL). This solar hybrid plant will not only empower students but also enhance educational outcomes, and foster a brighter future.
During the visit, we also convened a Development Partners' Roundtable, where we spotlighted the significant progress achieved under the hashtag#NigeriaElectrificationProject and explored how innovative programmes and initiatives, such as the World Bank's Nigeria Distributed Access through Renewable Energy Scale-Up (DARES) initiative, can enhance and accelerate the deployment and scale-up of electricity access, driving greater impact and sustainability.
Joining forces with Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) , the Rockefeller Foundation and the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP); we're accelerating clean energy access and Nigeria's energy transition.
