ZINOX TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY TO FOSTER COLLABORATION ON RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY
A delegation from Zinox Technologies Limited, an IT Company led by Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh (OON), the Chief Executive Officer paid a courtesy visit to the Rural Electrification Agency on Tuesday, 11th June, 2024 where they were received by the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Gboyega Ayoade, who represented the Ag. Managing Director/CEO, Abba Abubakar Aliyu.
The aim of the visit is to cement a strong collaborative relationship towards driving effective impact in the renewable energy and energy efficiency space.
The team gave a presentation on projects and activities implemented by the company where it was mentioned that for the past 22 years, Zinox has through its social responsibilities helped people both within and outside Nigeria achieve their dreams and aspirations as well as deploy their potential to create wealth and richer lives for themselves and their societies by using Zinox technologies to proffer simple solutions to the day to day challenges that they faced at home, school and work places.
The presentation touched on the company’s work around strategic partnership with local community, deployment of fiber infrastructure, capacity building, training programs as well as alignment on impactful electrification across the country, touching critical sectors of the economy. Shedding more light on community engagement, they noted difficulties encountered with sensitizing communities across the 774 Local Government Areas (LGA) in the country for NCC programmes and others.
On their social responsibility policy, the CEO noted that in their early days, the company being a household name as Zinox Computers Laptops and accessories was able to provide lecturers, students and other users with these systems on loan basis, thus bridging the gaps on ownership of systems that were out of the reach of many individuals.
The company also ran programmes such as E-Libraries, E-Health and building of ICT Centres for schools across the 774 Local Government Areas (LGA) in the country.
Speaking further, he explained that due to energy gaps most of these programmes were not sustainable, hence the need to diversify into the renewable energy space and between 2016 and 2017, the I-Power products were introduced. Today, the I-Power products are used in powering health centres, airports (Lagos/Kano), markets (9), communities and schools. Through the collaboration with REA, Zinox Technologies is looking to reach unserved communities through renewable energy solutions which is why the company has come to introduce i-Power and other energy solutions to REA.
The Ag. Managing Director of REA who was ably represented by The Executive Director (Corporarte Services) commended the work Zinox Technologies Ltd has been doing in improving lives of people noting that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) program is the future. Speaking further, he noted that there are similarities in what Zinox and REA are doing such as in the areas of Energizing Education, Health, Markets and Agriculture. He also spoke on the REUCS, a sustainability model for REA projects noting the importance of community sensitization and engagement. He assured the guests of the willingness of the Agency to go into this collaboration which is geared towards making a socio-economic impact across the country.
