The Rural Electrification Agency in collaboration with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) with support from the Nigeria Support Programme (NESP) – a programme implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Heinrich Boll Stiftung (HBS) Foundation and Power For All organized a two-day Energy-Agric Nexus Workshop, with the aim to engage with stakeholders on the best approach to stimulate the Rural Agricultural Sector through its Off-Grid Energy Infrastructure development projects towards stimulating economic development

REA JOINS GLOBAL ACTIVISM CAMPAIGN AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
|

16 Days Activism against Gender Based Violence
The 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence is an international campaign that commences on 25 November - the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - and ends on 10 December, Human Rights Day. It was originated by activists and continues to be coordinated each year by the Center for Women's Global Leadership
At the REA;
#The EEP and the STEM programme have and continues to aid in the elimination of GBV issues.
# The NEP has 30% female requirement for companies participating in the programme. In the NEP tenders, the REA has specified that each EPC contractor must have a GBV officer in its employment at the project site.
- The REA through the NEP will aid in building capacity and in the establishment of response centres.

The Rural Electrification Agency in its bid towards building young women in energy has held its first female Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workshop in Lagos State, Nigeria. The workshop was organized by the Agency in partnership with leading private sector developers and was attended by power sector stakeholders and business professionals with the aim of bringing together young women in the same room with top power sector and business professionals to share knowledge and discuss the opportunities for women in the industry
