Engr. Umaru Maza Maza was born in Zuru, Kebbi State on 20th June, 1952. He attended then National Authority (NA) Day Primary School in 1966. Bida Government College, Bida in 1971, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated with B.Engr. Electrical Engineering in 1976 and went to further his education at Rochester Institute of Technology, USA and obtained M.Sc in Electrical Engineering in 1978.
His Professional courses include, Direct Short Service Course, Junior Officers Staff Course at the Command and Staff College, Jaji, Management Courses at ASCON and other Institutions both within and outside Nigeria.
He served in the Nigerian Army Signals and rose to the rank of a Captain, an Assistant Chief Engineer to General Manager Operations in NITEL as well as in the private sector at Metronet Communication Concepts, Alpha Visions Technology and Jagal Construction and Engineering Company.
Engr. Umaru is happly married and is blessed with nine (9) Children.
