Advancing Renewable Energy: Husk Power Explores Collaboration During Visit to Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP)
Husk Power Systems, a provider of solar mini-grids in Africa, led by its CEO, Manoj Sinha, and his team, including the Country Director, Olu Arike as well as Head of IMGs and Public Partnerships, Ms Omobolanle Atobatele and other team members, met with the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) on August 1st, 2023. The discussion highlighted Husk Power’s remarkable expansion in Nigeria and explored exciting possibilities for renewable energy collaboration.
The company is one of the qualified companies under the Performance Based Grant (PBG) subcomponent of Nigeria Electrification Project. Through this initiative, Husk Power has successfully developed 9 mini-grids, thereby granting electricity access to remote off-grid rural regions. This aligns perfectly with the overarching vision of the Rural Electrification Agency, which is targeted at increasing electricity availability throughout Nigeria.
Conversations between Husk Power and the NEP centered around generating carbon offsets, developing off-grid energy assets, optimizing processes for enhanced efficiency and exploring avenues of collaborating to expedite the off-grid electrification solutions across Nigeria.
