EEP Phase 2 Stakeholder Meeting Engagement
The Energizing Education Programme (EEP) Phase 2 Stakeholder engagement forum, funded by the World Bank was held on the 19th of July 2018, at Chelsea Hotel, Central Business District, Abuja. The Energizing Education Programme (EEP) is a rural electrification initiative that seeks to develop off grid captive power plant projects for the generation and provision of adequate power supply, provision of street lighting and the development and operation of training centers to promote safe and productive learning environments to federal universities and teaching hospitals across Nigeria.
The highpoint of the event includes,
- A presentation on the Energizing Education Programme (EEP), which indicated Phase 1’s achievements to date, the Phase 2 universities and teaching hospitals, as well as its work plan and requirements from the Phase 2 beneficiaries.
- A presentation on the Nigerian Electrification Project (NEP), which highlighted the overview of the project.
Among the dignitaries that attended the event, were, the MD/CEO Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Damilola Ogunbiyi, and other REA management team members. Also in attendance were representative of the Executive Secretary for the National Universities Commission’ and senior management staff of University of Abuja – FCT, Federal University Gashua – Yobe State, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike – Abia State, University of Calabar & Teaching Hospital – Cross River State, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta – Ogun State, and National Defense Academy- Kaduna State.
