REA CONDUCTS TRAINING ON USE OF TEST EQUIPMENT FOR STAFF OF NORTH CENTRAL ZONAL OFFICE
The Rural Electrification Agency conducts a two-day training on use of test equipment to staff of North Central Zonal Office on the 27th and 29th of March, 2023, in Lokoja, Kogi State. The training aims to equip staff with the necessary technical knowledge in conducting effective and efficient inspection of equipment deployed for project implementation as well as for proper project monitoring
The training was facilitated by a team from the Corporate Headquarters led by Director (Projects) and Resource Persons and it had in attendance twelve (12) Zonal staff including the Zonal Coordinator
During the course of the training, the participants were prepped on the test equipment and its functionality and were provided guide on precautions to be taken before, during and after each test
Upon conclusion of the training, the participants were taken on a field monitoring visit to practicalize the knowledge gained through the training and to see first hand how the training tools work
The session rounded up with discussions on the need for improvement of project monitoring and evaluation for each stage of project deployment as well as pre-commissioning tests while laying emphasis on the importance of safety during tests
The Director (Projects) emphasized on the need for continuous human capital development and tasked the Engineers to be more committed to work and working as a team to achieve the Agency’s mandate of powering unserved and underserved areas across the country
The staff appreciated the Management of the Agency for the training which is expected to improve their skills and technical know-how and promised to use the knowledge gained towards ensuring standards of the Agency’s projects
