REA, NASENI, SHENZHEN LEMI OF CHINA REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TOWARDS CATALYZING SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT IN NIGERIA THROUGH CLEAN ENERGY TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT.
The Ag. Managing Director/CEO of the REA, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, alongside the Agency's Executive Management team paid a courtesy call to NASENI Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, 23rd April, 2024, where he was received by the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Agency, Khalil Halilu.
While speaking during the visit, the two Chief Executive Officers, renewed commitment towards strengthening the local manufacturing ecosystem, improving R&D and catalyzing investment in the nation's clean energy space while commending the quality of partnership between the REA and NASENI and the progress recorded in line with the objectives of the tripartite partnership agreement signed with the LEMI Technologies China at COP28.
One of the key gains at the Conference of Parties (COP28) in 2023 was the tripartite cooperation agreement between the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and LEMI of China, an alliance that has enabled the nation to draw in a 150M USD investment in local manufacturing through LEMI Shenzhen Technology company of China.
This kickstarted planned efforts for the establishment of a lithium battery manufacturing factory on Nigerian soil, a strategic move towards an energy revolution.
