Setting the Standard: REA and UK NIAF Shaping Sustainable Energy Projects in Nigeria; Hold Review Workshop on Standards and Specifications: Over the years, the REA has been at the forefront of the global efforts on quality assurance, efficiency, and sustainability of off-grid energy solutions through its Harmonized Technical Standards and Specifications designed to commit active stakeholders to quality, sustainable project delivery. Through the mechanism, the Agency has sustained the efforts on strengthening the parameters and pillars of energy access project delivery nationwide, irrespective of technology type. This week, through the support of @ukniaf, the REA took another strategic step in line with the sector's current growth trajectory and the Federal Government's ongoing energy access scale-up strategies being implemented through the REA. Themed "Harmonized Technical Standards and Specifications (Designs & Specifications): Enhancing Sustainability, Scalability and Impact", the REA - UK NIAF workshop addresses key touch points, including;
-- Strengthening of REA’s institutional frameworks, climate initiatives, investment frameworks, as well as technical capacity to drive sustainable rural electrification in Nigeria
-- Ensuring scalable, Sustainable and Impactful Mini-Grids (through Interconnection, DERs) and Institutional Strengthening
-- Investment Frameworks and Commercial Support for Rural Electrification.
-- Technical Support for Energizing Education Programme, Distributed Energy Resources.
The ongoing scale-up phase of the nation's energy sector, led by the Honourable Minister of Power, HMP Bayo Adelabu is committed to not only ensuring stakeholders' strict adherence to quality standards and specifications but also the deployment of efficient, innovative and sustainable energy projects nationwide.
