On the 28th of October, 2021 the MD/CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria – REA, Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad formally received the Institutional Assessment Report of the REA from Dr. Joe Abah of DAI Nigeria, who along with his team, have worked rigorously on this very vital document with the REA team in the last couple of months.
This report focused mainly on Institutional factors, inter-institutional linkages and external factors to provide an analysis of REA’s current institutional structures, complete with recommendations of fit-for-purpose institutional and inter-institutional structures, processes and actions required to improve the ability of the agency to deliver on its mandate.
The MD/CEO of REA, Engr. Salihijo expressed his confidence that the re-engineered REA will migrate from structures and processes to performance and result based REA architecture. We understand that we must be similarly determined to support the adaptation efforts in the months ahead to and I count on your support to avoid the mistakes of the past that has portrayed the agency in a bad light to the public.
He added that while keeping in sync with the efforts of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Ministry of Power, we must continue to uphold the mandate of the REA. Strengthening the internal systems of the Agency, he says, is only of the ways we have strategically ensured better service delivery while powering the unserved and underserved Nigerians across the nation.
