On Monday the 24th of June, 2019 the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) organized a one-day workshop on Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation of Solar Mini-Grid Projects with support from the European Union (EU) and the German Government through the Nigeria Energy Support Programme (NESP).
The workshop, which had over 100 participants in attendance, including private developers, M&E professionals and government agencies, aimed at engaging vital stakeholders on best practices to systematically track progress and outputs, as well as measuring effectiveness of mini-grid implemented projects
The presentations and feedback sessions at the workshop enabled participants to share diverse perspectives on issues ranging from M&E to the relevance of data in the renewable energy industry, tariff systems, challenges faced in the execution of mini-grid projects and the current impact of renewable energy in Nigeria and Africa.
