The Rural Electrification Agency in collaboration with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) with support from the Nigeria Support Programme (NESP) – a programme implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Heinrich Boll Stiftung (HBS) Foundation and Power For All is organizing a two-days Energy-Agric Nexus Workshop, with the aim to engage with stakeholders on the best approaches to stimulate the Rural Agricultural Sector through its Off-Grid Energy Infrastructure development projects towards stimulating economic development.
The 2-day workshop is scheduled to hold in Nigeria, Abuja on the 25th and 26th November 2019 with the theme: Decentralized Renewable Energy/Agricultural Nexus within the off-grid market in Nigeria: Prospects for Rural Economic Development; aligning with REA’s mandate “to help identify and shape scalable opportunities, match off-grid renewable energy projects with a vision for long-run cross-sector development within the context of agriculture for rural development”. Our goal at the meeting is to create actionable pathways for collaboration that have the potential to show how this progression of Decentralized Renewable Energy might be catalyzed for rural economic development.
